Tips for Easeful Movement While Traveling

Traveling this summer but worried that your body might not cooperate? Try some movement exercises and feel the difference. Here are a few ideas for practicing on the go.

Move Anywhere - No space? No problem. All you need is a wall or a floor or a banister and you’re good to go! Pilates exercises can be done with minimal or not equipment and can be practiced in various settings- think hotel rooms, outdoor spaces, or even airport lounges. Need ideas? See our YouTube Videos for a few ideas

Posture, Flexibility and Mobility. Traveling often involves long periods of sitting, which can lead to poor posture, stiffness and decreased flexibility. Practice 1-15 minutes of dynamic stretching along with moving the spine in ALL directions (flexion, extension, rotation and side bending) and you’ll be set. Try this one!

Stress relief. Traveling is stressful. Find a sense of calm and balance by practicing breathing exercises and mindfulness. Add a bit of thankfulness and you might just feel less stressed so you can actually enjoy your travels.

Energy. Need a boost? Do a full Pilates workout to activate the deep muscles of the core, which can help increase energy levels and improving circulation. Take 30-60 minutes and you’ll be ready physically and mentally to explore new destinations.

Improved sleep quality and digestion. Traveling can disrupt your sleep patterns and digestion. Regular exercise can help regulate your body's circadian rhythm and digestion.

Flexibility bands for travel. If you can take one piece of equipment, grab a flexband. They are tiny and can offer a world of strengthening and flexibility benefits! Need a flexband? We have them in the studio.

Practice with Posture Studio while you travel. See our videos ranging from 5 - 75 minutes. We’ll keep you moving on the go!
